It's 2020!

January/Feb brought so many fun things! Stephen still loving Guatemala, the kids enjoying school, Tiger such a perfect addition to our home, cousins Sterling and Cannon in the military, and Kenny achieving his Eagle Scout Award! What a wonderful accomplishment! Now he can sit in that Eagles Nest with his brother, cousins, and uncles! “Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America. Since its inception in 1911, only 4% of Scouts have earned this rank after a lengthy review process. First, Kenny passed his Board of Review with our dear friend Kathy Pagano!

Fun private Eagle Court of Honor at Spring Creek BBQ, same place as Stephen's!

We told Stephen he probably should think about a career in writing… Such entertaining weekly stories, this week even more fun about pigeon pooh with maggots in it… Who would even imagine?😳 We love our weekly chats where we can look into his eyes and see his bright smile. I applaud all the moms and dads for years before us that sent Missionaries out without having the chance to chat weekly. I’m so grateful that Heavenly Father saw fit to make that change before Stephen left…It seems so wise to just give him that little bit of joy each week where he can reconnect with his roots, laugh at his siblings and dog, and it does so much for our hearts to see his happy face.❤️
Week 36: All the winged creatures are conspiring against me. I came to this conclusion over the past week, as a result of a triad of experiences. Let me begin.  The first incident would have to be the Pelican that almost ate me. The huge dragon like beast decided to try to swallow me whole. Fortunately I wasn't. Whenever I go to the beach on exchanges though, I do make sure to keep an eye on the sky now haha. Just in case he makes up his mind to try again  The second incident took place out in the uncharted regions of "Flamenco", the largest portion of my area. The principal element in this part of my area is the jungle. There is nothing but green trees, foliage, and the occasional wildlife. The people that live out there are one with nature. I was navigating my way through said jungly part of my area, over the unkempt grass and dust riddled road, enjoying the beautiful Guatemalan sun and tropical breeze. I was loving life as normal. Because come on now, how can you not love life as a missionary in Guatemala?

Extra special highlight -- Preston blessing his cat! Then Kenny's choir concert and painting class.
