The Adventure Out West begins!

We sold our Texas home (lots of teary goodbyes) and are having a temporary adventure out west while we are looking for a place to land... what a blessing to enjoy this big wide world filled with so many marvelous people and exciting things to explore... especially loved the 3 day drive, passing the Hole in the Rock which reminded me of cute Dad's visit there a few years ago... so grateful Stefan could join us to help on the drive!

Arrived at Steve & Marla Lundgren's home, a perfect spot nestled in the Sandy mountains. Excited to rent their basement for about a year. Moving forward, while also remembering how teary-eyed I was in church our last Sunday in Tx when the opening song was "Come come ye Saints", particularly the line that said “we’ll find a way which God for us prepared… Far away in the west.” Then the closing song, "I’ll go where you want me to go dear Lord." We still don't know where we'll land but feel good about being here now. Whatever happens, we will always be happy that we atleast tried this option. Loved doing our first Cheerios sacrament! (no bread in the house) Sold our house via zoom closing!

We feel fortunate for the blessing of living with wonderful Steve & Marla. Cousin Steve is kind of one of the coolest people in the world. Aside from being a Marriott GM for 35 years, he was also a military Aide de Camp to a General. He knows everybody, worked the Olympics, housed General Authorities during Conf, yet he’s a very down to earth guy and so fun. Now retired, he just wants to play games all the time so we just laugh and play and talk and eat and game. Kind of a dream come true, and we’ve always loved them so it’s such a treat. The church asked him 5 yrs ago to create a Hospitality/Hotel Mgmt curriculum for BYUH; when they return again in Jan they'll escape the snow and live on the beach while we care for their home!

And cute Stevie is doing great in Boston, loving his new land and companions and investigators!
