Kenny's Eagle Scout Project!!

SOOOOO proud of cute Kenny -- finishing his Eagle project at 13!! So many gave freely and generously of their time, money and materials... our sweet friends Richard & Susan of Gieseke Spring Landscape Nursery with their brilliant lifetime lasting new boxes, Plants for All Seasons, Madison Gardens, our local Ace Hardware, and countless more! What a blessing that the rains stopped just in time for us to complete the work! Nursing home residents will be able to harvest food from these gardens that they will eat ~ so grateful for the leadership and life skills we learn from the scouting program!  Kenny and over 60 volunteers replaced old rotted gardenbeds with beautiful new enlarged ones, added flowers and mulch. Here's the before and after... and an article from our local nursery that donated supplies!

Visit From the Boy Scouts!

It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.

Kenny, a local Boy Scout, visited us yesterday to pick up some plants for an Eagle Scout project he’s working on. He’s putting together garden beds for The Village Retirement Home inside Gleannloch Farms neighborhood. The flowers will surround the garden beds. Residents will be planting vegetables in them. This will provide the residents with meaningful activity and will beautify the community. Madison Gardens Nursery donated some of the materials picked up by Kenny.

So fun collecting donated supplies from all over town ~

Kenny did a great job - gathering and orienting everyone bright and early to begin the project with LOTS of donuts and drinks!!

So fun to have Bill & Cindy drive all the way from League City!!

Best video of Stephen and Aaron racing, tossing the dirt!!

A garden expert advised Kenny to use recycled bottles in the gardenbed base to aerate it!
