14th Anniversary, House closing, and Happy New Year!

December 27 marked our 14 years of great marriage! Time has flown - and we both agree that life is good. As we went to McDonald's breakfast with the kids, we tried to remember how we celebrated our early anniversaries, on those first 4 years of being married without children... it must have been so quiet! But we can't imagine life now without our 3 little friends. We took Mom and Dad out with us all to enjoy Banana's Foster dessert... the least we could do to thank them for letting us stay with them now that we're officially homeless!! We finally closed on our home - the kids enjoyed helping us do that last big cleaning. 8-)
We're thankful for all that we have... Kenny and I were driving and saw a woman walking her dog - she has only one arm. He said he wanted to say a prayer for her, which he did: "Heavenly Father, we're thankful for our blessings, and that that lady will have her arm back soon." I appreciate his simple faith - when I woke up this morning and came out to the living room, Kenny was playing with a train - no one else was awake yet. I said - Kenny, you're out here playing all alone? He said - "No, Jesus is here too." Just his immediate response, didn't skip a beat. What a great reminder for us to remember to stay close to Heavenly Father.

Happy New Year! We banged pots and pans and ate too much... here's Kassie shoveling fruit dip in her mouth... wow.
