Life is good! Daron called as Elders Quorum Pres, fun subbing, Scout pampered by Johnson’s, and Kenny is rocking at everything he’s doing- got a 1 at Choir Solo & Ensemble, A’s in his classes and essays, seminary every morning, fun times dating, top scorer at Lake Creek in UIL Literary Criticism, and still has the drummer beat- rekindled that in DC with cousins!
BYU kids dating and playing- came home for a long Presidents’ Day weekend- who knew Poker was so fun??😂
2/3/22: The war against Ukraine started. Dozens dead- first large scale attack since WW2. Putin threatened “you will have consequences that you never have had before in your history”. They are bombing control centers, using missiles, attacking major cities. Pres Trump- none of this would have had happened under my presidency. Putin decided to move quickly when he saw the botched Afghanistan withdrawal. Bombs going off in Kyiv, people going to shelters. UN in an emergency meeting. Collusion with China and Iran. Bombs going off in major cities. A moment to remember.
Best Spring Break in Washington DC! Visited wonderful Judean & Scott’s family- loved fun cousin time, Riverdance show, private Pentagon tours, hours of Rock Band, Smithsonian museums, Scott’s famous French toast, reliving childhood memories from where Daron & siblings grew up - BONUS visits from Breanna and Rachael’s families!! Such an honor to learn more about our country as we visited the Washington monuments, saw the awe-inspiring changing of the guards at the Arlington Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and walked where so many brave soldiers fought. And timed it perfectly to see Japanese Cherry blossoms!
